For the Love of the Game
BridgeSeer is the brainchild of Suhas Badve. Suhas has been playing bridge for 35+ years, and it truly is a game that takes a lifetime to master. Suhas has been teaching his friends bridge over the years and more formally since 2019. As the players got better, the homework items had to become more involved and that’s how the puzzles were born. They were “homework assignments”. Each puzzle teaches a technique to enable the declarer to solve it against a perfect defense.

Having a tool that enabled the users to go back & forth while playing these hands was deemed critical. Suhas leveraged BBO’s Handviewer public domain tool to do this.

Though the puzzle shows all the 4 hands, as declarer you cannot cheat, i.e., cannot play with the knowledge of all the 4 hands and have to play as if you cannot see the defensive cards. At the same time, the puzzle is intended for the declarer to find a winning strategy to make the contract even with “perfect defense”, so you can assume that the defense plays with the knowledge of all 52 cards, except while choosing the lead, which is stated upfront for each puzzle.

After building a puzzle every week for his friends/students, Suhas felt that he can make them more publicly available so that others can benefit from these also.
BridgeSeer

The goal of this website is to help improve Declarer Play as well as help improve defense. I will very much like bridge players at large (at various levels) enjoy these puzzles as a pastime as well as to improve their game. I will love feedback on the puzzles, their solutions, as well as hands/ideas for new puzzles. If one of you submits a hand that is used to make a puzzle, proper credit will be given.
